Nikko Project, the project aiming to “Rediscover the International City Nikko,” has been organized in collaboration between CMPS and Nikko City International Association.

Nikko Project’s members include Utsunomiya University’s foreign students and Japanese students with foreign experiences, as well as community leaders of Nikko City. Every year, they visit various areas in the city and interact with the local residents with the aim to rediscover the charms of the International City Nikko from the perspectives of 1) tourism development; 2) international exchange; and 3) community building. After the fieldwork, students will give suggestions based on their experiences and observations. Having originally collaborated with Nikko City International Association through the Association’s exchange project called “Learn World through Food” since 2008, CMPS has carried on the current Nikko Project since 2015.
